reFocus Afrika is a Pan-Afrikan organization with a vision to identify, develop and maximize potentials on the continent by connecting opportunities to resources. We aim to support global initiatives by implementing transformative projects and programs focusing on agriculture, clean water, energy, housing, education, sports, training, and business development.

Dr. Gerald Poe

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Dr. Gerald F. Poe, Jr. is a global strategist, technologist, venture capitalist, and faith leader with over three decades of leadership in Artificial Intelligence, sustainable infrastructure, education, fintech, and community empowerment. As Founder, President, and Chief Executive Chairman of Keystone Strategies International VC & Development (KSI), he leads a global modernization and venture capital enterprise operating across ten sectors—including AI, clean energy, smart infrastructure, fintech, and education.

A pioneer in AI adoption, Dr. Poe has partnered with platforms like IBM Watson and OpenAI to develop more than 20 proprietary AI-driven applications spanning education, global investment, infrastructure management, and security. His 10x10x10 program drives 10 AI-powered solutions, 10 transformative projects, across 10 strategic categories, targeting both high ROI and measurable social impact.

Dr. Poe is also President of the Global Modernization & Innovation Division at CLDR, Inc., overseeing international technology, renewable energy, and education projects for marginalized and rural communities. Previously, as Director of Facilities Management at Huston-Tillotson University, he delivered over $24 million in capital projects and infrastructure upgrades.

A two-time honorably discharged U.S. Army and Navy veteran, Dr. Poe is an advanced SERE operative with expertise in airborne operations, survival communications, and technical security. Known in public circles as Pop Grizz, he is a recognized voice in survival readiness, outdoor living, and personal security awareness—empowering individuals to prepare for challenges and embrace the outdoors safely.

Career milestones include engineering and installing Tesla’s first three Supercharger stations in North America and Canada, testifying before the U.S. Congress on drone technology policy, managing major telecom infrastructure for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and multiple federal agencies, and leading the design of high-resilience microgrid and renewable energy projects worldwide.

Dr. Poe holds a Doctorate in Christian Business Leadership & Development and more than 350 professional certifications, including SCRUM Master, Six Sigma, OSHA, APPA Facilities Management, FAA Certified Remote Pilot, and FCC Licensed Amateur Radio Operator. He has written and managed over $1 billion in grants for education, technology, and infrastructure projects and has been awarded funding from NTIA, NOFO, and the Digital Equity Competitive Grant Program.

His inventions and patents include: KNIEX™ – AI-powered global investment exchange platform SmartEDU™ SEP OS – AI education operating system LegacyAi™, Syncretary™, and AskTelli™ – AI productivity and decision platforms

Dr. Poe is the first African American Worshipful Master of an AF&AM Lodge in Maryland under the Grand Lodge of England. He is a member of the Tuskegee Airmen, Black Engineers of America, Boule, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. A licensed FCC ham radio operator and recognized thought leader in AI ethics, smart infrastructure, and fintech inclusion, Dr. Poe is also a sought-after speaker. He has presented globally, including at the Dubai Family Office Summit (May 2025), and is regularly called upon for his expertise in integrating AI into high-impact projects that blend technology, equity, and economic opportunity.
